Personalized baby blankets are wonderful gifts for that new baby you know. But how do you know what kind of blanket to buy? Let`s start at the different baby blanket sizes:
Crib blanket: Does as it`s title suggests, it`s big enough to cover the entire crib for baby. Usually made of cotton or velour with a satin trim.
Receiving blanket: Sometimes called a swaddling blanket, it`s smaller than the crib, but designed to wrap baby in.
Security blanket: Also called blankies or bankys. Used to help a child comfort themselves. The smallest blanket available in many different materials.
Lovey or Lovies: A cross between a stuffed animal and a baby security blanket. Usually has an animal head and then a security blanket for the body. These have become very popular the last couple of years with both givers and gift recipient.
There are many options available for baby blanket material. Cotton, velour, fleece, microfiber, satin and more. It's simply a matter of personal preference. After you've decided your blanket size and material, it's on to the embroidery.
